São Vicente, the first land after 800nm and seven days sailing. Dominic is smiling for good reasons, there will be a warm welcome in Mindelo.

Mindelo – the second largest city of Cabo Verde and home for 75’000 Cabo Verdians.

Sailing towards São Nicolau – Past the north coast of São Vicente and Santa Luzia. Some local fisherman still use their sails, since outboard engines are expensive.

São Nicolau, for the first time the name Cabo Verde makes sense. In contrast to São Vicente there only live around 12’000 people on the island.

The third and last stop on the Cabo Verdes was Sal in the north east side of the archipelago. From  there we headed directly to Dakar.
